I wanted to share some of the mail I've been receiving lately.

Awhile back I got a message from Karen Hickman, the founder of Gold Star Siblings at http://www.goldstarsiblingsinc.org/ If you haven't visited this site, it's a touching memorial to her brother, who died in Vietnam, and others from more recent wars. Each time I visit, there are more faces on the memorial.

Another letter which I copy here:

Collecting Loss: Weaving Threads of Memory (http://www.collectingloss.com/), a community arts project which involves collecting clothing that belonged to people who have died and collecting the story this clothing evokes from those who loved them. We are asking for your help to reach people who have experienced the death of a loved one.

We are in the gathering phase of Collecting Loss and need the donations of clothing and story from as many bereaved people as possible by June 30, 2007. Donated clothing and stories will become part of a public art exhibit that will share, within a community setting, the often private experiences of losing someone we love.This project is reliant on these contributions.
